A B O U T

Welcome to Meraki and Soul, a website/blog I made to share my passions with the world.  I started in August 2017, so I could have an outlet to share the inspiration I find that gets me going EVERDAY!

Behind the name

In trying to find and perfect the name for my site, I was searching and searching interesting words. I found the word, meraki, a Greek word untranslatable in English, I was hooked.  Meraki [may-rah-kee] means when you use your soul, creativity, and love and put it into something or when you put "something of yourself" into what you're doing, which is what my site (meraki & soul) is for me.

I’ll tell you a few things about me,

I love nature.  There is something about being outside either in the sun or rain.  It sets the tone for my day, even my life, whether it be rain or shine.

I love eating well.  I am a huge fan of yummy smoothies, the fruit in season, and salads. Don’t get me wrong, if you follow me you will also know I love fries and A WHOLE LOT OF sweets.  :)

I love animals.  BIG animal supporter.  I support a lot of animal rescues and causes and I am really passionate about.   I also love my very own pup, Charlie.  And yes, I will pet your dog.

I love sports.  I’m an athlete.  I love working out, but as much as I love getting a sweat in,  I love to watch others sweat.  Some of my favorite sports, but definitely are not limited to, are football, basketball, lacrosse, baseball, swimming, and more…

I love adventure.  Adventuring means having fun…why not?

Be happy.  That’s one last thing.  Whatever you do, make sure it makes you happy.  It’s not my motto, it’s my lifestyle.

Sweat.  Lifestyle.  Food.  Style.  Inspiration.
just a blog full of passion.

soul cycle (my first class & beginner tips)

Two words… Soul Cycle .  Yep,  just two.  A week or two ago I took a little leap of faith and signed myself up for a Soul Cycle class.  Let me tell you, I had been really wanting to take a class, but where I lived there aren’t many studios nearby.  With taking a trip to Dallas, where I knew they had a few studios close by so I immediately hopped on the site, signed up, and reserved myself a bike. Studio I went to …Preston Hollow, Dallas Instructor …Kevin Before I went I had all those excited, anxious vibes.  Excited to see what all the hype was about, ready to get started!   I met up with a friend, which made it a whole lot nicer, so a suggestion would be to find a friend who wants to try out a class or who has done it before. Funny story, I actually saw one of my favorite bloggers, Kate of Lonestar Southern in the class before mine. Setting up. I had another Soul instructor that helped set me up, she readjus...
