5 reasons you should eat oatmeal & my recipe

I, like every other person "try to eat better" and keep a clean, well balanced diet.  Eating clean has been a whole lot easier because I am always filled and I'm getting all of the nutrients I need to power through the day.  I also just feel good.  I start my day off right, which sets the mood for the rest of the day!!

Why eating healthy, hardy meals helps you?

You're not constantly hungry.  Trust me.  We all know when we're hungry we quickly revert to one cookie or chip, then another, then maybe just one more.  Then you feel guilty.  Since eating oatmeal I have noticed I'm not trying to have a snack in between meals.  I have been getting filled!

I recently found that one of the best, most filling foods I eat is oatmeal! Believe me, I am a huge person on texture.   And one of the foods I always had an issue with I was oatmeal.  Since eating oatmeal with some fresh fruit, it's much better.  It's like a juicy, fresh flavorful bite with the (sometimes) bland oatmeal.

Side note:  I really want to make oatmeal muffins to eat on the go and to fix that texture problem!

5 reasons to eat oatmeal

1.  It's quick and easy (and cheap!)

Whether you're buying the premade packs or making your own, it's quick.  It's not hard, and totally affordable because there aren't many ingredients.  If you're on the go in the morning, it takes five minutes to make, five to eat!  Easy to heat up and eat at work also!

2. It's all natural

Talk about clean eating...it really is clean!  I like to add a little cinnamon or honey which gives it just a little more flavor, but those two ingredients are also really good for you!

3.  It has key nutrients you need in your diet

While I'm not a nutritionist, I know that it can lower cholesterol, boost your immune system, stabilize blood pressure, it helps the digestive system, and prevents diabetes.

4.  The taste alone

I will admit that oatmeal is pretty bland, not gonna lie, but adding fresh fruit to it changed my thoughts completely.  I'd say it adds a different, unexpected burst of juice!

5.   Easy energy booster

Nothing gets you through a day better than a good breakfast.  This is it.  My fav combo would have to be some oatmeal with strawberries and blueberries with a banana on the side.  No mid morning snack needed after that, and I'm left feeling really wholesome.

Bonus

6.  I don't know how accurate this is, but I have heard it's helps your skin stay healthy!  What do you know!?  No more moisturizer needed!

kinda chewy and definitely gooey oatmeal

You need...

- Quakers steel cut oats (one serving size, on the container)
- peanut butter (about 1 tbs)
- honey (about 1 tbs)
- pinch or two of cinnamon

Toppings

- strawberries
- blueberries

I made a single servings worth (directions on making the oatmeal are on the box).  I just added water and heated it up.  Again,  its really simple no true measurements are really required.  I just eyeballed it.

Then I added a tablespoon of honey and peanut butter, which made it really sticky, but I didn't mind!  For some more flavor I added cinnamon!  Flavor burst-don't add too much!

I am telling you, if you don't really like oatmeal have a little piece of fruit with each bite...game changer!

easy dinner you CAN make

My Pinterest is literally my life goals all summed up from homes to food to style.  I'm not kidding. I have habit of pinning a ton of things I want to do, and never doing them.  Whoops.  With trying to eat better, more wholesome foods, I had been pinning a lot of recipes I wanted to try.  I got a little inspired with other people cooking so I decided why the heck not?! soul cycle (my first class & beginner tips)

Two words… Soul Cycle .  Yep,  just two.  A week or two ago I took a little leap of faith and signed myself up for a Soul Cycle class.  Let me tell you, I had been really wanting to take a class, but where I lived there aren’t many studios nearby.  With taking a trip to Dallas, where I knew they had a few studios close by so I immediately hopped on the site, signed up, and reserved myself a bike. Studio I went to …Preston Hollow, Dallas Instructor …Kevin Before I went I had all those excited, anxious vibes.  Excited to see what all the hype was about, ready to get started!   I met up with a friend, which made it a whole lot nicer, so a suggestion would be to find a friend who wants to try out a class or who has done it before. Funny story, I actually saw one of my favorite bloggers, Kate of Lonestar Southern in the class before mine. Setting up. I had another Soul instructor that helped set me up, she readjus...

really yummy smoothie

I am a BIG FRUIT LOVER.  I'll admit it.  But my two favorite fruits are strawberries and pineapple, which are the main flavor aside from the banana in this smoothie.  I realized I end up making either this smoothie or something like it almost three, maybe four times a week, that's a lot! Keep scrolling for the super easy recipe. Ok, I lied.  I think fresh, juicy pineapple pieces are the absolute best!!  For a good amount of time I had been looking for the perfect, ripe pieces but it took a whole lot of searching.  After a long time, I found that Safeway had the best pineapple.  Every once in a while I might get a "dud" package with less ripe pieces.  But, I mean, look at this picture!! Do you see the F R E S H pineapple?  Heck yeah baby!!   🙌   I can't always eat Greek yogurt, because it's either too bitter or too thick (I know some of you can relate, it's a texture thing!).  To let you know this post is not spon...
